
Our Analysts



Terrill L. Gibson, Ph.D., is a Jungian analyst, Diplomate in the American Association of Pastoral Counselors (until their 2019 closure), and Approved Supervisor for the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. Dr. Gibson lectures and writes widely on the basic theme of the integration of psychotherapy and spirituality. He has been a frequent consultant, faculty, supervisor, and facilitator for a variety of Pacific Northwest universities, social service agencies, corporations, and religious congregations.

Stephanie completed her Jungian Analyst training at the C. G. Jung Institute Zürich, Switzerland and received a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute. She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington State. Stephanie is interested in the experience of the body in analysis and values Marion Woodman’s BodySoul approach to individuation. She is a mother and grandmother and enjoys spending time in nature.

James Max Gossett trained in Switzerland and is a Diplomate Analyst of the C. G. Jung Institute, Zürich. He practices as a Spiritual Director and is both Anglican and contemplative. The poetics of being ground his approach and appreciations for each unique person in the work of wholeness toward individuation. This translates to collective issues that invite interiority to make conscious individual personal authority. The art of therapy and spiritual direction build on creativity and heart. Currently his focus is on public speaking and writing. He is not accepting new patients at this time.

Geri received her Analytic training at the C. G. Jung Institute Zurich, Switzerland in 1998. She is a member of the C. G. Jung Institute of Seattle as well as a member of the Pacific Northwest Society of Jungian Analysts (PNSJA) in Oregon. She practices at her home office in Gaston, Oregon, southwest of Portland. She sees Washington state clients online, as desired. She has been a mental health practitioner since 1987. Spirituality is an important aspect of Geri’s work as an analyst, with specialties that include life in transition, spiritual emergence/y, dream processing and sandplay. In addition she is a teaching member of the Sandplay Therapists of America and offers sandplay and Jungian analytic consultation and supervision.

Marla has studied Sandplay and Somatically based Psychotherapy. She is a Training Analyst with CGJIS and with the InterRegional Society of Jungian Analysts. Diplomate Jungian Analyst (NPIAP 1999).

Carolyn is a Senior Analyst member of the CG Jung Institute of Seattle and the Interregional Society of Jungian Analyst. She received her Jungian Psychoanalyst diploma with NPIAP -Seattle in 2011 and has been in clinical practice for over 35 years licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist. Carolyn holds forth a temenos to tend to the always-changing “emotional truth” within every analytic session in pursuit of opening again and again to our “emotional truth” traversing our personal, collective, and cultural world traumas and catastrophes. Her clinical approach is an open-ended analytic discourse having the courage and faith to embrace the unconscious as an infinite unknown to bring new aliveness and meaning. Jane Kepner, M.Div., Ph.D., is a Jungian Diploma Analyst, trained in Zürich, Switzerland and a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. She lives and practices in White Salmon, WA, close to nature and the forest wisdom she loves to share with others. She enjoys working with dreams, relationships, fairytales and life myths. Jane has worked for 3o years with trauma, loss and recovery, rejoicing in the wonderful discovery of the Self that analysis offers. For more information please see janekepner.com.

Laura Lewis Thayer, MA, completed her analytic training in Zurich, Switzerland and has 35 years of experience in working with individuals on their healing journeys. Laura is also trained in East Asian medicine. She has lectured internationally and recently developed a year-long program called, The Space Between, From Opposition to Dynamic Equilibrium, which draws on ancient Chinese thought, Jungian psychology, and a somatic process she developed in the early 90’s. She is currently on retreat, and therefore is not taking new clients at this time.

Valerie McIlroy, M.S.W., L.I.C.S.W., was trained as a Jungian Psychoanalyst at the Jung Institute of Los Angeles and certified in 1997. Prior to that she was educated in England and the University of Southern California, she moved to the Pacific Northwest in 2003 and currently practices in Port Townsend. In addition to her Jungian background She has considerable experience with domestic violence and substance abuse.

Carol is a Zurich-trained Jungian Analyst with over 30 years of clinical experience. She is not accepting new patients at this time.

Suzan received her diploma as a Jungian Analyst in 2008. Suzan works to assist her patients to find a more meaningful life through their dreams, creative expressions, synchronicities and other manifestations of the unconscious. Art, literature, music and nature are sources which nourish Suzan and her patients as well. She has been licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist and Mental Health Counselor since 1980, teaches a variety of seminars on Jungian topics and practices in West Seattle.

Retired/Emeritus Analysts

Patricia Warming trained with first generation Jungian analysts at the C. G. Jung Institute in Zurich and received her diploma as a Jungian Analyst in 1976. Previously she received Master of Arts and Master of Divinity degrees from Princeton Theological Seminary. Her undergraduate degree was in Music. Throughout her career Pat was interested in the interweaving of music, religion and depth psychology. She has served as Director of Training for the C. G. Jung Institute of Seattle and taught classes in various aspects of depth psychology for over four decades.
